The Robert P Ball Cabinet of Ancient Coins | Carthaginians in Sicily and North Africa, Siculo-Punic, AR Tetradrachm, c. 320 BC, head of Tanit-Persephone left, hair tied with reeds, wearing triple-drop earring and pearl necklace, four dolphins swimming around, all within beaded circle, rev. head of horse left with palm tree to right, Punic letters MM below, 9h (Jenkins III, 207; SNG Copenhagen 87; HGC 2, 287), rub to highest relief, otherwise lightly toned, with handsome and colourful flaring in recesses, a pleasingly good very fine, an iconic Ancient issue
