NGC AU53 | Henry VII (1485-1509), Type IIIc, Angel, Autumn 1495 - Michaelmas 1498, 'New Dies', Tower, large lettering, [(m.m.) hE]NRIC 'x DI x GRA x REX [x A]NGLI x Z x FRACI, St Michael vanquishing Dragon, saltire stops, rev. (m.m.) PE[R x] CRVCE 'x TVA x SALV[A x NOS x] XPE x REDE 'x, ship surmounted by square-topped shield and mast dividing h and rose, saltire stops, 4.98g, 3h, m.m. pansy (over scallop on reverse [?]) (Schneider I, 520/522 for partial legend readings; North 1696; Spink 2183), flatness in upper right quadrant of obverse with additional superficial marks on a short flan, the obverse die evidently rusted, otherwise struck details a bolder fine / near very fine in parts, in NGC holder, generously graded AU53 (Cert. #2103178-041)
