Russia. Imperial. Pair of Silver Egg Cups in the Form of an Egg. St. Petersburg, 1860s-1870s. 58.7 gms. Engraved patter around, eight-petalled cartouche egg top and bottom; screw-fit pedestals which detach and invert into egg halves which closes and forms single egg. City mark, "84" and maker's initial "N" on upper egg face. "XIII" scratched on inside of one pedestal bottom, "X" on inside of the other. A charming piece.
