Signed by the Trustees: Anthony Dey, W.H. Sumner and G.W. Curtis at bottom right, with Secretary W.H. Wilson signing below. The Company was founded in New York in 1830 for the purpose of colonizing the combined lands assigned the empresarios Joseph Vehlein, David G. Burnet and Lorenzo de Zavala after the three had encountered difficulties in starting their respectively colonies. The colonization contracts covered a large area in Texas located immediately east of the Austin Colony between San Jacinto and Sabine Rivers and north of Nacogdoches. Very Fine.
