Oliver Cromwell, Crown, 1658 over 7, by Thomas Simon, laureate and draped bust left, rev. crowned and garnished shield, * • HAS • NISI • PERITVRVS • MIHI • ADIMAT • NEMO • on edge, 30.11g, 6h (Spink 3226; ESC 240 [10]; Lessen E12; Pywell-Phillips 1; Dr Erik Miller 22), an attractive coin with deep cabinet tone overlying rich lustrous surfaces, further flashes of iridescent brilliance in recesses muted only by rub to highest points, the famous die flaw almost imperceptible on this evidently early striking, extremely fine and most desirable thus, in NGC 'Francis' holder, graded AU58 (Cert. #5878642-002)
