Charles I (1625-1649), Oxford Triple-Unite, 1643, Civil War Issues, Declaration types, tall crowned bust left, holding sword and olive branch over left shoulder, no scarf behind upper arm, rev. Declaration on continuous scroll with three plumes and mark of value above the plumes and above top of the scroll, m.m. plume (Spink 2727; Beresford Jones, dies VI/L5; Brooker 839 this coin; Schneider II, 299; N.2383), a remarkably round and uniformly struck example with only the slightest hint of double-striking to the reverse, otherwise much as struck, extremely fine and very rare, especially in this condition and with an exemplary pedigree through the highly selective cabinets of revered Charles I collectors
