18th Century European Silver Holy Water Font. Likely French. 6" high, 107.8 gms. Openwork field with high-relief Christ on the cross, INRI above; oval lidded bowl with engraved IMRS below cross and crown. Hallmarks on top of lid - crowned A, crowned lion rampant right, stork and "O". Hallmarks on back of top frame - crowned A, crowned lion rampant right, and "vd (ligate) BM (or N - last leg out of rectangular punch). Rare.
