American stage and screen actress, younger sister of Lillian - both major stars of the silent era. 4 ½ x 6 1/3" sepia tone photo of a young Gish signed in black below; Corelli, Allan (ca. 1895-1980). Carnival Strongman who specialized in lifting others up and making it impossible for others to lift him up. 7 7/8 x 9 7/8 B&W of Corelli in a suit smoking a cigarette. To the left and across, Corelli writes in black October 24/25 Wilkes-Barre Pa. / To / To [sic] Theodore Johnson / "as a drummer in a class by himself" / "from the Man they cannot lift" / Sincerely / Allan Corelli. Corner tips missing and small pinholes from old mounting. [2]
