With 3-page letter from pioneer aviator and advocate John Jay Ide to (intended recipient of the set) Dr. George W. Lewis, Director of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. On Ritz Hotel, London note stationery, June 21, 1931. Ide tells Dr. Lewis he has this set for him and discusses the conference and the RAF display, and his delight that "the inauguration of the new equipment was so successful. Letter with foxing and central fold split. Rare.
