Whitaker Wright was a company promoter based in Philadelphia whjo made a fortune in Leadville, Colorado and Lake Valley, New Mexico. He returned to England where he carried on the same business floating many company for mining in Western Australia, British Columbia and elsewhere. He was found guilty of fraud following the collapse of his empire and committed suicide in an ante room of the court. GVF.
