[Russian Rulers]: Nicholas II -- Nikolai II Alexandrovich Romanov. Last Emperor of Russia (1 November 1894 - forcibly abdicated 15 March, 1917, executed by the Bolsheviks July 1918). Autographed Photo. 5 ¾ x 8" B&W photo of a young Nicholas II as Tsarevich in uniform with frogging. Nicholas signs lower right in black pen with date 1894. Nicholas became emperor with the death of Alexander III on the first of November of that year. It is likely he signed before then, possibly during his trip to Coburg in April, when he proposed to Princess Alix, or in the summer during his trip to England. Embossed St. Petersburg studio name below in outer border. Bold, clear signature. In a decorative wood frame.
