Revolutionary War: Important New Hampshire Committee of Safety Document from the House of Representatives. March 18, 1780. 1 page. Manuscript document signed. State of New Hampshire in the House of Representatives. Defines the size of the New Hampshire Committee of Safety (seven persons), defines a quorum(four), mentions the powers assigned to the Committee (call emergency meetings of the General Assembly, raise men by draft, receive and answer all public letters, "take up and secure all persons that they judge dangerous…," settle all accounts against the State "…that may appear to them fair and just…". Ending "Sent up for concurrence John Dudley, Speaker P. T. / In Council March 18, 1780. Read and Concurred G. Pearson D. Secry." Very Fine details, with several body holes and small pieces out of the margins. None of these are particularly distracting.
