World War I. Japan. Naval Ensign. 104 ½ x 66". Presented to Lieutenant Commander Robert F. Morris, U.S.N., Comm. Liaison Officer, at Japan's Surrender, Tokyo Bay, September 2, 1945. Trivial stain. Overall Excellent condition; accompanied by four cloth napkins from the 'H.M.S. King George V' officers' dining service presented to Lt. Commander Robert F. Morris. The 'H.M.S. King George V' was the flagship of Sir H. Bernard Rawlings, Vice-Admiral, Second-in-Command, British Pacific Fleet. Morris was the Officer in Charge of the United States Navy liaison detachment onboard the 'H.M.S. King George V' during the last seven months of World War II. Attractive and historic grouping.
