William James Claridge was killed in action, aged 22, whilst serving with the 6th Battalion, Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry on 29 September 1916. He is buried in the Grove Town Cemetery, Meaulte; sold together with the original issuance certificate for this Medal.

John Claridge was killed in action with the 2/4th Battalion, Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry on 12 September 1918 and is commemorated upon the Ploegsteert Memorial.
