United States. Civil War Non-Regulation Staff and Field Officer's Sword. By W. Clauberg, Solingen. Fancy silvered basket with US eagle and shield, pommel slip with face, silvered grip; 35" curved blade, ornate "US" on one side, displayed U.S. eagle and motto on the other, maker's mark at ricasso. German silver scabbard with silvered branch pattern fittings, two rings. Clauberg is known for making many of the finest Civil War presentation swords. A Very Fine sword.
