Finland. Republic, Order of the White Rose, Grand Officer´s set of Insignia, neck badge, 50mm, silver-gilt and enamel; Star, 77mm, silver, silver-gilt and enamel, very fine (2). The Finnish Order of the White Rose was instituted in January 1919. Interestingly, the Collar Chain is linked by swastikas, the official symbol of the Finnish Defence Forces from 1918-45. In 1961, the Chain was adapted and the swastika removed.
