Bare-headed bust of Frederick Henry of Orange-Nassau ¾ right wearing lace collar and cuirass within oval, Mars at left, holding Frederick's Arms, Victory, at right, holding palm frond, jointly holding wreath crown over Frederick's head, in cartouche above - AUREA CONDET SAECVLA ("He has brought the Age of Gold"), Cityview of s'Hertogenbosch in cartouche below, S HERTOGHENBOS 1629, tiny: 16.A.VD.WILGE. 30 at bottom, rev. Crowned Arms of the States-General, name of Jehovah in clouds with two cherubs holding trumpets above, supported on the left by Prudentia holding a serpent and on the right by Fortitudia holding a column, both hold wreaths attached to cartouches depicting four of Frederick Henry's victories: GROL 1627, SILVERVLOT 1628 (the capture of the Spanish fleet in Matanzas Bay, Cuba), FERNAMBVCO 1630 and WESEL 1629; around: AVSPICIIS ADSIT VICTRIX CONCORDIA ("Let harmonious Victory be joined to Supreme Power"), CVM PREVIL in ex. Very rare. Fields chased and polished in the past, some small nicks on edge possibly from mount. Extremely Fine.
