Widemann produced several dies for the medal to celebrate the marriage of Joseph II to his second wife Maria Josepha of Bavaria, showing the same allegorical scene, but with many minor variations. This example has been beautifully struck from skillfully reworked dies, resulting in a crisp brilliant appearance.
