Born on the Ionian Greek Island of Lefkada, Patrick Lafcadio Hearn (1850-1904) was the son of Irish Surgeon-Major Charles Bush Hearn, who served with the occupying British forces, and a Kytheran-Greek mother Rosa Antoniou Kassimatis. He is best known for his books on Japan - most notably legends and ghost stories, and his writings about the city of New Orleans, where he stayed for 10 years. A Fine set, colorful and lovely.
