World War I - Propaganda Poster, Russia. "B Ъ Пл?HY ъAъЪ". "In the Captivity of Women". 12 ¼ x 16 ¾". Shashabrin, Kazan. Top panel depicts three Austrian airmen in aeroplane landed in a field being captured by Russian farm women holding sickles and rakes (clearly featured to shame the enemy). The bottom panel shows two Russian Cossacks capturing a mounted German officer as two other German officers look on aghast, the caption below reads "Brave Cossacks Capture a German Officer Alive". Pencil notation on back. Extremely Fine. A colorful, rustic caricature.
