Low Countries: Postal History. 1740 Appointment of Paul Seys as Master of Posts and Letters in Termonde by Prince Alexandre Ferdinand, Postmaster General of the Imperial Reichspost and head of the House of Thurn und Taxis. Printed, one page, folio, vellum, Vienna, the first of August, 1740. The functions and regulations concerning the Posts in Termonde (Dendermonde in East Flanders) are explained along with the rights and duties of the Postmaster; illuminated initial letter. The Prince signs "Alexandre [flourish TT] prince" in brown ink lower left, blind embossed seal with Arms to the right. At bottom right, in brown ink "par ordonnaire de J.A. Monseigneur LeVrinel [?] Jean George Dietterick". Some soiling in margins and on back. Fine.
