Alexander, Field Marshal Sir Harold Rupert Leofric, 1st Earl Alexander of Tunis. Senior British Army officer who served with distinction in both World War I and II, and after as Governor-General of Canada. Framed Autograph Signature group. Autograph letter signed "Alexander of Tunis f.m. Xmas 1951". On Government House Ottawa letterhead, Alexander writes: "To all my old Comrades in hospital, my wife and I send you our greetings and best wishes that you may soon be restored to health. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year together with the best of luck." Matted and framed with the envelope in which it was sent to Ontario Hospital, an autograph 8 x 11 B&W photo of Sir Harold, wearing his Order and Dress miniatures, and his wife, Margaret dancing at an official ball signed "Margaret Alexander of Tunis" and "Alexander of Tunis" (the photo indicated as 'Saliyon Studios, Montreal, Que.') and a metal name placard. 15 x 24 ½". Very Fine.
