Fr-1225h, $10,000 1900 Gold Certificate, No. M143590. Andrew Jackson. red seal, gold underprint. Teehee-Burke signatures. A survivor of the famous Washington, D. C. post office fire where $10,000 Gold Certificates were tossed out of the windows by firemen, and were happily received by astonished onlookers below who kept them as souvenirs. The pin cancels read " U. S. T. 6:29:17," indicates that the note was in use for just 22 days. PMG Very Fine 30, Perforation Cancelled, Thinning.
