Austria. WWI Marine Pilot/Radio Operator's Badge. Karl I. Gilt bronze, white, red, black and green enamels. 43.5 (not including bird's wings) x 66mm. Bird -- generally described as an eagle, though clearly not an eagle's head or beak, head left, wings spread out and upwards of white enameled wreath, thunderbolts in its talons. K monogram on red and white enameled shield above, Austro-Hungarian Arms on three enameled shields below. Very Rare. Top and bottom tong clasps. Period solder repair to bottom one. Extremely Fine.
