Portugal. Kingdom. Set of Type I Military Order Badges. Mid to latter third of the 19th Century. Order of Christ, Order of Aviz and Order of St. James of the Sword. Each 57 x 86mm (including integral loop). Gilt and enamels both sides. Sacred heart above white cross on red St. John's Cross, green cross patonce, and red, spear-tipped cross patonce on white enameled field. In original maroon case (some minor scuffs). Light loss of central green enamel on Aviz, a few hairlines and light dirt on the white enamel, sacred heart somewhat loose on the St. James. Still an impressive early set and Very Fine.
