Brazil. Empire. Order of the Rose. Dignitary Breast Star. Ca. 1860-1870's. 55 x 74mm (including crown). Silver, gilt, gold center and enamels. Gold monogram at center, motto AMOR E FIDELIDADE in gold letters on dark blue around, on six-point, white enameled star, set on rayed plaque with wreath of high relief, pink enameled roses, crown with green inset above. Pinback. Faint hairline on one cross arm. Choice, a lovely Star.
