Bataillon d'Artillerie. Etat de la Louisiane Medal, undated. Bronze, 23.4mm. 2.4 to 2.7mm thick at the rims. Battalion legend around and within wreath, rev. Crossed muskets, flaming grenade above, US eagle and shield below. This medal should date before 1860 and no later than the Mexican War. The Bataillon is otherwise unidentified, but is possibly related to the pre-1830 Creole Batallion d'Artillerie d'Orleans et de Washington. Cf John J.
