Allegorical scene depicting Chile seated facing, elbow resting on shield with Arms, condor with outstretched wings behind, receiving tribute from Peru and Bolivia who bow before her, Cherub at her right, mountains in background, symbols of industry and commerce around; CHILE/EN PAZ CON EL / PERU.I.BOLIVIA/1884 in ex; at upper left in small letters: MONNEHAY & GODARD GRAVEURS/PARIS, at upper right: 'LOUIS BOTTÉE Sculpteur', rev. Condor with open wings at top flanked by Victory and Fame sounding trumpet, battle scene below, a defeated Peru and Bolivia at lower right, a proud Chile standing at left; CHILE.EN.GUERRA CONTRA EL PERU.I.BOLIVIA around, small signatures of engraver and manufacturer right and left; tablet naming battles in exergue.
