Second Liberty Loan of 1917 4% Convertible Gold Bond. $50. Nov. 15, 1917Black and brown, Thomas Jeffferson. Complete with all four coupons. Columbia statue on the all brown back. An excessively rare short-term Liberty Loan Bond. An unusual low denomination bond from a series of Liberty Loan Bonds that paid interest for two years. All denominations are very scarce with perhaps less than six examples known. Very Fine. Pencilled notations on one of the back panels. An almost identical example, Lot 21509 in a Heritage January 2015 auction realized $8,225. Also included is a $1 Postal Savings System note from Beverly Hills, California, March 12, 1946., EF, with the original envelope.
