U.S. 1840 Model Tiffany "Wrist Breaker" Cavalry Saber. Tiffany & Co., New York. Leather and wire grip, characteristic Tiffany iron -- three-branched --hilt and pommel. 36" blade with narrow and wide fuller, iron scabbard with iron. TIFFANY & CO / NEW YORK and PDL ("Peter D. Luneschloss") on ricasso. This famed saber was used extensively by both Union and Confederate forces in the Civil War. A Very Fine sword.
