Great Britain. 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Trooper's Sword by Thomas Gill of Birmingham. Broad, straight 35" blade, maker's name "T. Gill" stamped on spine, proof mark "Crown over 4" stamped upper blade near guard. Regulation steel hilt with ribbed leather-covered grip, steel, two-ring scabbard. Nicks along the edge of the blade and scabbard has a 1 ½" seam crack. Otherwise, a Very Fine sword. With blue carrying sheath.
