United States. WWI Trio to Private Frank Joseph Cushner, USMC. Purple Heart with oak leaf cluster. Named "Frank J. Cushner" on back, numbered "3058" bottom edge, on riband; USMC Good Conduct Medal, numbered "68176" on edge; on riband with bar. About EF-EF; and Victory Medal, three clasps "St. Mihiel", "Meuse-Argonne" and "Defensive Sector" - all separated, no riband, ring opened; also, riband bar (much frayed). Frank Joseph Cushner enlisted in the USMC at Paris Island, SC, May 26, 1918. He was engaged in active operations in the St. Mihiel Sector, American Front and near St. Etienne, in the Champagne Front. He was wounded in action Oct. 3, 1918, and severely wounded in action Nov. 1, 1918 at Langras, St. George, Argonne Front. He was discharged for physical disability April 22, 1919 at Quantico. Accompanied by copies of Cushner's discharge papers and a reprint photo. Ex Evans Kerrigan Collection.
