CSA. Important Confederate Trans-Mississippi Document. Treasury Department C.S.A. / Richmond, February 22, 1864. 8" x 12." No.9. Handwritten draft prepared for C.S.A. Secretary of the Treasury C. G. Memminger. Part of the instructions issued for carrying out the redemption of currency under the Act of July 17, 1864. 1st The holders of all Treasury Notes above the denomination of Five Dollars, not bearing interest, are allowed until 1st of April east of the Mississippi, and until 1st of July west of the Mississippi, to fund the same in 20-year Registered Bonds (Signed) C. G. Memminger" at the bottom. Nicely mounted in gold-toned wooden frame.
