CSA. T-6. $50. Sept. 11, 1861. Cr. 6. PF-1. No.4306. B. Justice, left. Agriculture and Industry seated on cotton bale. Green underprint. Southern Bank Note Company. VF-EF. With full borders and bold embossing. An endorsement on the back in light brown ink states "Paid out Sept. 25th, 1861. / M. L. Smith / Maj of Engineers." Under Robert E. Lee's command, Smith worked on fortifications for the City of New Orleans along the east side of the river.
