Portrait Miniature - Venus and Cupid. German, 19th Century, inspired by French work. In gold (untested) oval frame. 35 x 59mm. Bare bosomed Venus wearing black and red cap, gold robes, Cupid, wearing red beret with black cockade, with bow (supported by Venus) and arrow. Brass back plate, tooth pronged on cardstock with German inscription. Suspension rung atop. Some test scratches on frame, otherwise well-preserved and attractive.
