Crowned cipher of Kurfürst Wilhelm II, legend and date 1821 (the year in which he instituted the award) within wreath, rev.. Cross with 1814-1815 wreathed, knight's helm atop, legend around. On edge: AUS EROBERTEM GESCHÜETZ ("from Captured Cannon"). Made from captured French cannon, this medal was awarded to Kurhessian soldiers who were part of the Allied force that defeated Napoleon at Waterloo. Rare. Integral ball loop with ring. No ribbon. Very Fine.
