Great Britain. Indian Campaign Pair to Surgeon G.H. Ray, MD, 13th Bengal Lancers. Punjab, 1848-1849. One clasp: "Chilianwala" (ASST. SURGN G.H. RAY, M.D. 2ND TP 3RD BDE); and India General Service Medal, 1854-1895. One clasp: "Northwest Frontier" (SURGEON G.H. RAY MD 13TH REGT BENGAL CAVALRY). Surgeon G.H. Ray served with the Second European regiment and was present at Ramnuggur and the passage of the Chenab. With the 1st Light Cavalry, he was present at the Battle of Chilianwala. Ray accompanied a detachment of sick and wounded to Ferozpore in 1849, and rejoined the Army with Hospital Establishments. He was in Medical Charge of the 8th Irregular Cavalry with Field Force under Lt.-Col. Guise, and acted as Postmaster to the Force. The first contact marks and small edge bruise. Both polished. EF-AU.
