Great Britain. Egypt Medal, 1882-1889. Two clasps: "The Nile 1884-85", and "Kirbekan" (2424 PTE. J. HARRIS. 19TH HUSRS.). The "J" is an error for "S" as the muster book shows (the errant initial is also repeated on some of the roles). Private Samuel Harris of the 19th Hussars was on home service until August 29, 1884. He served in Egypt from the 30th of August and was involved in the Nile Expedition to rescue General Gordon besieged in Khartoum by the Mahdists, and in the action at Kirbekan on Feb. 10, 1885. He died at Merawi, April 9, 1885. With copies of muster, roles and Orders. On ribbon. Friction hairlines. About Uncirculated.
