Ireland. William Deane Medal (1775). Bronze. 42mm. By William Mossop. Uniface. Draped bust right; GVLIELMVS DEANE. ARM. A member of the Royal Irish Academy. Deane was a solicitor and officer of the Court of Chancery. Commercially, he established a glass works which produced bottles and window glass. This unfinished medal was part of a contemplated series of Irish notables. Cf.BHM 199 (44mm). Rare. Extremely Fine.
