Lot: 223

China, Empire Year 3 (1911), Qing Dynasty, Emperor Hsüan-t'ung (1908-1912)
20 Cents, Year 3 (1911), Ruler: Hsüan-t'ung, Silver, weight 5.4 g., Central mint of Tientsin , ref. L&M-40; K-229; Y-29; WS-0048.
Obv. legend Hsüan-t'ung and inscription Tai-ch'ing Yin-pi, rev. dragon.

Extremely rare in this high MS grade, only a few mint state graded by PCGS and NGC, among which 2 only of a higher grade (one NGC MS-66, and one PCGS MS-65+). MS, graded NGC MS65.

An amazing example of this "one-year" type, toned with a peripheral silver blueish patina on both reverse and observe, very seldom seen at auction in such high grade.

NGC MS65
