Philadelphia and Lancaster Turnpike Road (Pennsylvania) 1795. 62 shares. No.3620. Covered wagon pulled by horses approaches the tollhouse at the entrance. Embossed company seal. Printed on parchment. The central image is the earliest known use of an engraved illustration on an American stock certificate. Issued to George Fox, and signed by William Bingham as president. William Bingham was an American statesman and business man from Philadelphia. He was a delegate for Pennsylvania to the Continental Congress from 1786 to 1788 and served in the United States Senate from 1795 to 1801. EF. Issued, not cancelled.
