Kitchener, Field Marshal Horatio Herbert 1st Earl Kitchener, KG, KP, GCB, OM, GCSI, GCMG, GCIE, PC. (June 24, 1850 - June 5, 1916) was a senior British Army officer and colonial administrator. He won fame for his imperial campaigns and he later played a central role in the early part of World War I. ALS. 8vo. Cairo. December 3rd, 1896. "I have great pleasure in testifying that, during the time I was Inspector General of the Egyptian Police, Miralai Harington Bey (late Rifle Brigade) served under my command from April 1891 as commandant of the Cairo police…I always found his work thoroughly well done, and most capable and energetic. Nicely matted and framed along with a photograph of Kitchener. Approximately 15" x 18".
