Chile. Miniature Portrait of a Gentleman. Mid-19th century. A distinguished gentleman, wearing a blue frock coat with yellow piping and a bandcollar faces ¾ left, glass over golden frame, bullion braid border. Housed in a gutta percha case, brass hinged, a bucolic scene with a cherub on a ladder on the front and back. Well preserved, a very fine miniature.
