1800 $5 Capped Bust Heraldic Eagle Reverse. EF-AU details, altered surface. NGC Guaranteed Authentic Only. The obverse field to the left is slightly concave, perhaps due to the removal of a surface defect. The reverse appears to be Almost Uncirculated, with a good deal of original luster. With certified EF-AU $5 Capped Bust Half Eagles of this date showing auction records in the $6,000-$9,000 range, this example may prove to be an excellent value for the astute collector of early gold who may have a limited budget.
