Banco de Portugal, a block of four printer's proofs 500 Escudos, Chapa 4, ND (1928), no serial numbers, no signatures, red-violet and deep blue on multicoloured underprint, portrait of Duque de Palmella at right, castle at lower left, value in three corners, reverse green, vignette of horse-drawn carts and trees at centre, bank arms at left, two punch holes in each copy
(Pick 141p (4)), generally good very fine, a superb showpiece for the advanced collector, the individual notes very rare and this block of four believed to be unique (4)
