Orinoco Steam Navigation Company of New York. (New York) 1852. One share. 1000. No.328. Red 1000. Wagon with cotton, steamboat. Allegorical women, and Venus on shell, below. Bank note-quality engraving by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch and Edson. VF+. A tiny piece of the lower left corner is shaved off. The company ran steamers around the coast and the rivers of Venezuela.Their steamship, the "Apure", was attacked by rebels, and several Americans officers were killed, resulting in a diplomatic mess of major proportions.
