J. Edgar Hoover Letters, Mug Shot Collection, and Other Criminal Justice Items. Typed letter signed "J. E. Hoover." December 7, 1927. On Hoover's Department of Justice, Bureau of Investigation letterhead. The signature appears to be stamped, not written; A second, similar letter dated July 17, 1928. A third letter, on National Bureau of Criminal Identification letterhead, dated December 22, 1914; A record book from the Department of Police, City of Cincinnati, containing over thirty pages of criminal records with mug shots of murderers, thieves, embezzlers and others; and three wanted posters from the 1930's.
