Tennyson, Alfred Lord (1809-1892). Poet Laureate of Great Britain and Ireland during most of Queen Victoria's reign; still one of the most popular British poets. Best known for "The Charge of the Light Brigade", "Crossing the Bar". ALS. 2 pages. 8vo. "July 5th." Aldsworth, Haslemere, Surrey. "My dear Sir, By all means call your house "Locksley" if you have taken a fancy to the name, My wife is pretty well, and we beg to be remembered to Mrs. Bedingfield,. Yours very truly, A Tennyson." Some stains and mounting remnants, but otherwise very good. Also included is a nice engraving of Tennyson. From the Collection of Diana Herzog.
