Ford, Henry (July 30, 1863-April 7, 1947). American industrialist who founded the Ford Motor Company and perfected the technique of mass production utilizing the assembly line. Drawn from life, signed portrait of Henry Ford by Seymour Halpern. The portrait is about 3 1/2" by 5 3/4" and mounted on a card. Also included is Mrs. Henry Ford's Dearborn, Michigan calling card, and a photograph of Mrs. Ford and Henry Ford taken on the occasion of their 53rd wedding anniversary and the 75th birthday of Mrs. Ford. Henry Ford developed and manufactured the first affordable automobile, the Model T. He also successfully developed the franchise systems that established deealerships throughout North America and in major cities on six continents. Most of his vast wealth was left to the Ford Foundation. From the collection of John Herzog.
