German States. Baden. Landwehrkreuz (Reserves) Dragoons, non-commissioned Officer's 1894 Model Pickelhaube. Black leather body topped by distinctive kreuzformig Unterlage -- brass spike with cruciform mounting. Large front plate depicts crowned gryphon supporting Baden shield, motto on scroll below. Brass chin scales, leather backed, kokarde at sides. The fittings including the pearl ring indicate this helmet was worn by a NCO of the 20-22 Regiments of Dragoons. Squared front visor, plain rear spine with extra middle securing stud. Wear on leather sweatband and inside metal plate. Very minor scuff of body front right. A Very Good and pleasing helmet.
